I got up at 6:30a.m. and started getting ready for our all day tour of the Versailles Palace. We headed to the metro at 8 and learned how use our metro passes. The first part of the day we walked around the palace. We got to see the Louis XIV, XV, and XVI’s room, dining room, drawing room, their wives rooms and finished at the Opera Royal. We ate lunch in the cafeteria at Versailles. After eating lunch we went to see the gardens and then walked to see The Grand Trianon which Louis XIV had built for himself to escape the pomp of living at Versailles. At the end of our tour we also saw the place where Marie Antoinette lived for many years. We headed back to the metro station and on the way I found a store that was offering 20 postcards for 3 Euros which was an amazing deal considering I found some by the Eiffel Tower cost were 7 for 10 Euros. I’m so glad I waited and bought them later. We headed home to work on our projects for school. Several of the girls hope to get some shopping done tomorrow (4th) and maybe even make it to a yarn shop and fabric store.
